Collector Vehicle Plates under attack!
You had to see it coming, Collector Vehicle Plates begin to show up on daily dirvers. Mini Vans, Pickups and other vehicles from the 90’s, people takeing advantage of the law to avoid paying for yearly tabs. Senate Bill 5127 made a half hearted attempt to plug that loophole, however the effectiveness could easly be called into question. Poor Record Keeping and a lack of enforcement pretty much makes this Bill a non event. My opinion is that they should have changed the thirty year criteria to fifty years going forward.
A Full House beats a Damp Day!
The Weather on New Years Day was about as bad as you can get without heavy rain. I thought I would crank up the old Buick on the off chance someone might show up for the very first Cruise In of 2026. If I had to choose a word to describe the turnout it might be Ginormous! Nearly every spot in the lot had someone’s ride parked on it! Kudos to all that turned out!
There was a lot of positive Buzz about this event with many folks considering it a Reuinion with a Cruise attached!

Rodents in your Ride!
This can be chalange if your car resides in a Car Port or a building that may have a few access points. Mice can find there way in through very small holes and winter sends them looking for a place to hide. We have a short article adressing those issues below.
Bremerton Swap Meet, one and done!
2026 is slated to be the last year for the Bremerton Auto Swap Meet. Organizers site a decline in Attendance, Vendors and Membership as the primary factors. This event had its humble beginnings over fifty years ago and grew to be one of the largest Automotive Events in the County. Check your Drivers License!
The process of renewing your Drivers License use to be quick and easy, however that is no longer the case. Renewal on site can take you several hours or more. In Kitsap County they list two locations for License renewal, Redwood Plaza in Bremerton and the Highway 305 Plaza in Poulsbo. Both sites handle the process differently with the Bremerton site processing strait License Renewals separately from the more lengthy Enhanced Process. I would recommend that you budget two hours of your time and at least $54 Dollars. Things you should know:
- If you are over 70, you must renew in person.
- On line reservations can be two months out.
- Renewal only in Bremerton will save you around an hour.
- Come prepared to have your pictures taken.
- Check the hours of operation, some days 8:30 others 09:30
- Got questions, you can call 360 902 3900.

Grandpaw’s Wrench

This Wrench belonged to my Grandfather. He worked for Continental Can Company in Seattle back in the 20’s (that’s the 1920’s). I inherited his Machinist Tool Box years ago and this was one of the many tools inside. Every once in a while I get it out and use it. Should I drop that Wrench it will land on this Website somewhere. If you should find it and let me know where you found it, we will award you with a prize. Good Hunting!
Next Generation ?
If you are like me you may be wondering, where is that next generation of Car Guys and Gals coming from? Well the folks at SEMA have also been giving that some thought. They have launched a program called Take a Kid to a Car Show.

Hit the road and ditch the Ethanol
We have all heard the horror stories of the old rides attacked by the addition of Ethanol to Gasoline. It is fixing to get even worse this fall when they add another 5% to the mix! Often attacking the earlier forms of rubber in Fuel Pumps and causing lots of corrosion in vehicles that sit for long periods. Non Ethanol fuel is available if you know where to look for it. Here is a link to the stations that supply non Ethanol fuel in our state. https://www.pure-gas.org/index.jsp?stateprov=WA
